NASHUA – Hudson police officers called to an early morning report of a possible domestic altercation arrested one of the alleged combatants on charges which accuse him of strangling a woman before allegedly introducing a firearm to the mix.

Nicholas Deluca, 26, of Six Tolles St., Hudson, was taken into custody around 5 a.m. Sunday and transported to Valley Street jail to await Monday’s arraignment in Hillsborough County Superior Court-South.

Bail was set at $1,000 cash only for Deluca, who is charged with one count each of second-degree assault and criminal threatening-domestic violence, both Class B felonies, and one count of simple assault, a Class A misdemeanor.

The charges accuse him of assaulting a woman, described by police as an intimate partner, outside a Hudson

residence.

The woman told police Deluca pushed her to the ground, where he allegedly restrained her “by putting one arm around her throat, to the point she could not breathe,” police said in their

reports.

Deluca, meanwhile, told police he “placed (the alleged victim) in a headlock … possibly around her neck,” as the two wrestled on the lawn, police said.

Deluca said he was upset with the woman because he told her repeatedly that “she was not taking the younger child and leaving the home,” according to police reports. At one point, Deluca went and “got his gun, and told (the woman) he was going to kill himself if she took his son,” the reports state.

He told police he cocked the gun, then said to the woman, “is that what you want … for me to kill myself?'”

But the woman told police Deluca “did not threaten to kill himself,” but allegedly threatened to kill her, “then cocked the gun in a manner … that placed her in fear for her life,” police said.

Terms of Deluca’s bail order, and a criminal bail protective order the court issued on the woman’s behalf, order Deluca to have no contact with her, and stay at least 500 feet away from her, except for when they need to communicate regarding child visitation issues, according to the

orders.

Deluca is also prohibited from threatening any of the woman’s family

members.
