Nashua’s Babies R Us closing on March 31

By ADAM URQUHART - Staff Writer | Mar 7, 2018

NASHUA – Toys R Us has an outline to close up to 180 stores by mid-April and the Nashua Babies R Us is one of those locations.

A representatives from that 10 Coliseum Ave. store said they weren’t allowed to speak about the store closure, but did announce the closing date is set for March 31.

In the meantime the store is offering discounted merchandise until that date.

The nationwide store closings are part of the toy retailer’s reorganizational plans following the company’s bankruptcy filing in September 2017.

In a letter posted on the company’s website in January, Toys R Us Chief Executive Officer Dave Brandon said: “The reinvention of our brands requires that we make tough decisions about our priorities and focus.”

The letter also stated that in moving forward, the company intends to convert a number of locations into co-branded Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores.

“The actions we are taking are necessary to give us the best chance to emerge from our bankruptcy

proceedings as a more viable and competitive company that will provide the level of service and experience you should expect from a market leader,” Brandon said in his letter.
