Merrimack stabbing suspect still at large

MERRIMACK – Police still are searching for the suspect in Sunday night’s stabbing that left a woman with serious injuries.

The woman, 33, who is not being identified by police, was stabbed in the torso Sunday night by an unknown male attacker, according to police. The attacker has been described as a man wearing a dark, hooded jacket.

The woman is in stable condition and expected to recover.

Officers were called to 3 Scott Drive, a cul-de-sac in a small neighborhood off Amherst Road, around 10 p.m. on Sunday in response to a report a person had been stabbed.

The woman told police she had just returned home when she was confronted by an unknown man in her driveway, which is on the right side of the split-level home. The man then fled, but police didn’t specify if he was on foot or got into a car.

Emergency medical personnel called for a trauma team to be activated at Nashua’s Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, where they transported the victim after treating her at the scene.

Police urge anyone with any additional information on the incident to contact the department at 603-424-3774 or call its Crime Line, 603-424-2424.
