Holiday card challenge well met in Hollis

Correspondent photo by LORETTA JACKSON Ambassador-level girl scouts of Troop 10568 in Hollis, along with Gena Lavallee, of Hollis, and her two children, Alexander, 10, and Caroline, 8, background, are among many answering the “New Hampshire Holiday Card Challenge,” a call publicized in the “Letter to the Editor” section of the Hollis Brookline Journal of Friday, Nov. 3, that extended to the community an invitation to help to provide holiday cards to each of the 5,000 sailors aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), a Naval Aircraft Carrier on duty at sea.

Holiday cheer is headed overseas from patriotic folks in Hollis and many surrounding towns.
