One dead after standoff
One man is dead following an hours-long standoff with police in what officials are calling a domestic situation.
Nashua Police were called to a residence near Auburn and Fletcher streets off Amherst Street near Holman Stadium at around 11:30 a.m. Friday for a situation involving a male and a female. The male, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at about 7 p.m., allegedly held the female against her will for several hours before dying from the gunshot wound.
Earlier in the day, a Code Red was issued, and officials advised residents in the area to “shelter in place.” The Nashua Police Department, its SWAT team and K9 unit, along with a SWAT team from Manchester assisted at the scene.
It is unclear, officials said, the motive for the incident.
