Sunset Heights Elementary School in Nashua to host carnival to benefit DI

By Staff | Mar 27, 2014

NASHUA – The Sunset Heights Elementary School PTO is throwing a carnival to benefit the Destination Imagination program.

The carnival will be held at the school, 15 Osgood Road, from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, March 30.

The carnival will feature such kid-friendly activities as a bounce house, games, face painting, a dunk tank, a climbing wall, karaoke, balloon animals, make-your-own cotton candy, concessions, vendor booths and a silent auction.

“We are thrilled to bring this first-ever event to our Sunset Heights community,” said Polly Koczalka, Destination Imagination coordinator for Sunset Heights. “We expect it to be the biggest event of the year, probably the biggest in many years.

“We hope it will kick off a new tradition of fun for our school and neighboring community.”

Activities range from one to four tickets each. Tickets are 50 cents apiece, or a bracelet can be purchased for $20 that will admit the wearer to all activities all day (concessions and shopping not included).

All money raised will go to the Destination Imagination program, including travel expenses. DI is a program that allows students to practice teamwork, time management, research and creativity as teams of up to seven students work to solve a long-term problem and an instant challenge.
