Nashua offers citizens police academy
NASHUA – The deadline to register for the Nashua Police Department’s 30th Citizens Academy is Aug. 28.
The nine-week program begins Sept. 4 and concludes Oct. 30. Sessions will go from 6:30-9:30 p.m. each Tuesday during the period.
The program will feature presentations by members of the department’s specialty units – SWAT, Hazardous Device, Dive, Crime Scene and K-9. It will give attendees a chance to meet the men and women of the department and hear first-hand about their work environment.
The opening session is led by Chief Andrew Lavoie, along with deputies Mike Carignan and Denis Linehan.
