Verizon Toys for Tots drive winds down; Verizon Toys for Tots drive winds down

Wireless Zone, the nation’s largest wireless retail franchise offering exclusive Verizon products and services, has partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to create a more joy-filled Christmas morning for thousands of less fortunate children through the annual Toys for Tots drive. Customers in Nashua can drop off unwrapped toys, books and games at the two Wireless Zone locations – 291 Main St., and in the Pheasant Lane Mall at 310 Daniel Webster Highway – until Dec. 16, and Wireless Zone will deliver the donations to the local Toys for Tots distribution center.

"Our local franchise owners and corporate stores are honored to be working hand in hand with such an impactful organization," said Dave Staszewski, executive vice president at Wireless Zone. "We are constantly looking for ways to support our local communities, especially during the holiday season, and placing Toys for Tots donation bins in our stores is a simple way to make the holidays more special for less fortunate families right in our backyard."

Founded in 1948, the Toys for Tots program’s primary goal is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate children through a new toy at Christmas. In 2015, Wireless Zone contributed to the millions of toys that Toys for Tots distributed, but the need only continues to grow. With nearly 15 million American children now living below the poverty line, donations are critical during this 2016 holiday season.

Toys for Tots is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. While the Marines manage the program, the organization’s success depends on the support of local community leaders such as Wireless Zone. Suggested donations include books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, bath gift sets, board games and electronics.

"Our hope is to put a smile on the faces of as many children in Nashua and around the country as possible," said Jason Ricard, franchise owner, Wireless Zone of Nashua’s Main Street location. "Christmas can be a difficult time for families in need, so giving back is our top priority this time of year. Our entire team appreciates the opportunity to share the holiday spirit with children who might not receive anything otherwise."
