Habitat gala raises $67,975 for building, repairs

NASHUA – More than 175 supporters attended the Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity’s third annual Dream Builders Gala on Sunday, Oct. 23, at LaBelle Winery in Amherst.

An online auction full of weekend getaways, art, date nights and restaurant gift certificates, signed sports memorabilia and much more officially launched the event two-weeks prior, ultimately raising $67,975, a 108 percent increase over last year’s event. All proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the building, renovating and repairing of affordable and safe homes for local families in need.

Anheuser-Busch Brewery, of Merrimack, played a huge role in the amount raised thanks to their generous $35,000 donation. As a Master Builder Sponsor, their gift will cover construction costs at the 42 Chestnut St., duplex home in Nashua. Demolition of this property began Monday, Nov. 7.

GNHFH would like to extend their gratitude to the countless event supporters, including sponsors, donors, auction bidders, volunteers, guests and board members who made this year’s event such a success. Both LaBelle Winery in Amherst and 501 Auctions provided seamless service and support to make this event such an enjoyable experience for so many.

Special thanks goes out to the 42 Nottingham Drive Master Builder Sponsor, UPS; Mobile Bidding Sponsor, Allstate Insurance: Matt Surgento; Lock & Key Sponsors, Stephens-Marquis Associates, Inc. and the NH VFW; and Paving the Way Community Supporters, 3D Auto Works Inc., Ameriprise Financial: Todd H. Leo & Associates, Eaton and Berube Insurance, and Viking Roofing, Inc.
