Cheer teams in cancer benefit

HUDSON – The Hudson varsity coed cheerleading team and the KallieGator cheering team from Nashua are participating in the Cheer for Dana-Farber fundraiser, which supports cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

The high school cheerleaders will fundraise until Friday, Nov. 25.

Cheer for Dana-Farber is an annual fundraising initiative that grants New England cheerleading programs – including Pop Warner, middle and high school teams, as well as all-star teams – the opportunity to show team spirit and support the fight against cancer.

Cheer for Dana-Farber teams fundraise in their local communities through car washes, bake sales, canister collections and more.

Each team that raises $1,000 or more will be entered to win the grand prize – a chance to perform a cheer routine prior to a New England Patriots
home game. Four teams will be chosen.

Each additional $1,000 raised earns teams an additional ticket entered into the drawing.

The top five fundraising
teams will be invited to a cheer clinic run by the Patriots cheerleaders.

Since its launch three years ago, Cheer for Dana-Farber has raised nearly $250,000 to
support patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
