NH Gives Day supports state’s nonprofits

CONCORD – New Hampshire will celebrate its first statewide day of giving on Tuesday, June 7.

NH Gives Day will harness the collective power of individuals, communities and businesses to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate the impact of nonprofits in the state.

Coordinated by the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits, NH Gives Day is designed to raise as much money and awareness as possible for New Hampshire’s nonprofits within a 24-hour “flash mob of giving.”

“NH Gives Day is about bringing people and causes together on a single day that will have a lasting impact on our communities,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits. “We are asking people to show their support for the nonprofits and causes they care about by donating through NHGives.org on June 7.”

NHGives.org provides residents across the state with an easy-to-use platform where they can find a cause and donate securely. To sweeten the deal, the center, with the support of its sponsors, will award 17 cash prizes throughout the day. Participating nonprofits also receive training and marketing support.

More than 20 Greater Nashua nonprofits are participating in NH Gives Day, including:

Nashua Center, Bridges: Domestic & Sexual Violence Support, St. Joseph Community Services, The PLUS Company and Nashua Senior Activity Center.

Also, NH Incredible Creativity Connection, The Front Door Agency, Nashua Police Athletic League, Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley and Andres Institute of Art.
