Nashua Lions name Teacher of Year
NASHUA – New Searles Elementary School teacher Michelle Henning was selected as the Nashua Lions Club Teacher of the Year, club President Louise Deschenes announced.
“This marks the second time a teacher from New Searles has been chosen for this honor,” Deschenes said.
Selected from 30 nominations by an independent panel of judges outside the club, Henning was recently informed of her selection in her classroom in front of her students, principal and team members.
Henning was honored at the club’s May 16 meeting at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Assistant Superintendent of Schools Karen Crebase and New Searles Assistant Principal Jill Peck praised Henning for her creative teaching techniques and dedication to the students.
