Family Promise hosts Sisters of PMA
HUDSON – The Sisters of the Presentation of Mary were recently welcomed to Family Promise of Greater Nashua at Anne Marie House for a Sisters Tea.
Pamela T. Small, executive director, recognized the sisters for their contributions to the mission of Family Promise of Greater Nashua, which provides families who have experienced homelessness a safe home, nourishing meals, family services and the skills they need to permanently achieve a sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyle.
The families come from 10 communities in Greater Nashua and can be of any composition, including single fathers or married couples.
Anne Marie House has a special place in the history of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary because the building previously served as the novitiate for the order. Many of the sisters hadn’t visited the building in nearly 30 years. They enjoyed their tea and sweets in the newly remodeled dining room, convened in the chapel for a prayer service and then enjoyed a tour of the building.
The highlight of the day was seeing the sisters interact with the children who currently call Anne Marie House home.
