Girl Scouts announces partnerships for New Programs on Demand

BEDFORD – Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains (GSGWM) announces new partnerships with businesses that serve New Hampshire the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center and Holbrook Travel, to help provide unique programming for the girls they serve.

Through the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, Girl Scouts can explore interactive activities as they learn about astronomy, aviation, Earth and space science, and as they discover how rockets and telescopes work, and what it may be like to live and work in zero gravity. Working with Holbrook Travel, Girl Scouts can customize their travel adventures and arrange to meet and engage with sister Girl Scouts and Girl Guides in the country they are visiting, in order to deepen their knowledge about local culture and daily customs.

GSGWM offers Programs on Demand (POD), a collaboration designed to connect Girl Scout leaders, volunteers, and families with businesses and organizations to provide girls unique experiences and learning opportunities, help develop new skills, and enable girls to gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. Providing hands-on, girl-centered learning in STEM, the outdoors, and entrepreneurship, Girl Scouts helps girls take the lead early and often.

“We are excited to collaborate with our new business partners to continue offering different and exciting programs that support our mission to develop girls of courage, confidence, and character,” said Patricia Mellor, CEO. “Programs on Demand is a great addition to the innovative programming we offer our Girl Scouts today.”

As a Programs on Demand partner, businesses gain promotional exposure to families living in New Hampshire, through a variety of channels and by offering opportunities for girls to learn about health and science; animals and the outdoors; arts and entertainment; history; food and cooking; and life skills.
