Banks pull stocks away from records

U.S. stocks took small losses Tuesday as banks slid in tandem with bond yields and interest rates. Small-company stocks took sharp losses as a seven-day winning streak appearsed to end. Technology companies and consumer-focused companies continued to climb and Amazon.com briefly surpassed $1,000 a share for the first time.
