NH consortiums elect new leaders

CONCORD – The New Hampshire College & Uni­versity Council and Cam­pus Compact for New Hampshire board of direc­tors have elected Dr. Todd Leach, chancellor of the University System of New Hampshire, as chair of both organizations.

The board also an­nounced the election of Sr. Paula Marie Buley, IHM, president of Rivier Univer­sity, as vice chair and Dr. Steven DiSalvo, president of Saint Anselm College, as treasurer. All three will serve two-year terms.

Dr. Leach is the seventh Chancellor of USNH. Pri­or to serving as chancel­lor, he served as president of Granite State College. Leach also served as the senior associate dean of the College of Professional Studies, where he oversaw all CPS academic programs and faculty and led the de­velopment of more than 20 master’s and doctoral de­gree programs.

He also provided over­sight for Northeastern Uni­versity’s online programs and served as the executive director of the School of Education.

Leach holds a Ph.D. from Northeastern University and an MBA from Bentley University and has more than two decades of experi­ence as a leader and faculty member within higher edu­cation.

He also holds a B.S. from Worcester State College and an A.S. from Mass Bay Community College. In ad­dition, Leach has completed at Harvard University. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences on the subjects of higher education and dishigher-education programs tance learning. He serves on the USNH board of trustees and is one of New Hamp­shire’s commissioners of higher education. ­

"Dr. Leach has been a tremen­dously supportive board member and advocate for cooperation and collabora­tion between New Hamp­shire public and private higher education institu­tions. We know under his leadership our combined efforts will be strength­ened and grow."

Debby Scire, executive director of CCNH, stated, "Campus Compact looks forward to Dr. Leach’s lead­ership and commitment as our chair in advancing community service and civic engagement initia­tives across our member campuses. His knowledge and support will be a tre­mendous asset to our col­lective efforts."

Sr. Paula Marie Buley, IHM has been a board member of both NHCUC and CCNH since joining Rivier University as presi­dent in 2011. "Sr. Paula is an acknowledged educational and civic leader, and we are delighted she has agreed to serve as our vice chair," Horgan said.

Dr. Steven DiSalvo joined the board of both organiza­tions when he became pres­ident of Saint Anselm Col­lege in 2013. "Every board needs that one person who will push the envelope and get others to think differ­ently. We are fortunate to have that in Dr. DiSalvo," Scire said.
