Proprietor of Frederick’s Pastries, wins business leader award

AMHERST – Susan Lozier Robert, proprietor of Frederick’s Pastries, was named Business Leader of the Year 2011 by the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce at its 23rd annual awards dinner earlier this month. Robert began working at Frederick’s Pastries in 1989 and purchased the business from her parents in 2004. In 2007 she opened a second Frederick’s Pastries in Bedford and added her third in 2010 in North Andover, Mass.

Under Robert’s direction, Frederick’s Pastries has received numerous awards including a Business Excellence Award 2010 – first place for Excellence in Retail, which recognizes the efforts and achievements of owners of businesses with 100 employees or fewer. Frederick’s Pastries was among three finalists chosen for the annual Torch Awards put on by the Better Business Bureau, which fosters the highest ethical relationships between businesses and the public through voluntary self-regulation, consumer and business education, and service excellence, and Frederick’s received the 2010 Perfect Record Recognition.

Robert was recognized by New Hampshire Magazine as a Woman of Achievement in 2008.

Since the inception of the Best of New Hampshire award from NH Magazine in 1999, Frederick’s has been repeatedly chosen for cakes and pastries by readers.

Frederick’s has also won Hippo’s Best of the Best, Souhegan Valley’s Best, Best of Bride and Bride’s Choice awards.
