Centrix earns top 100 community bank ranking

By Staff | May 10, 2011

BEDFORD – Centrix Bank recently ranked 58th on SNL Financial’s annual list of the Top 100 Best Community Banks in the country.

This is the first time in the bank’s 12-year history that it has made the list, according to Joseph B. Reilly, president and CEO.

SNL defined community banks as institutions with between $500 million and $5 billion in assets with less than 60 offices. Based upon the criteria, 764 community banks were eligible for the rankings.

Companies who met SNL’s criteria received scores based on their percentile rank in six categories: return on average tangible assets before tax, net charge-offs as a percent of average loans, adjusted nonperforming loans as a percent of total loans, operating expenses as a percent of operating revenue, net interest margin and loan growth.

Founded in 1987, SNL Financial collects and disseminates data, news and analysis for the banking, financial services, insurance, real estate, energy and media/communications industries.

Centrix Bank serves southern New Hampshire from offices in Bedford, Concord, Dover, Manchester, Milford and Portsmouth, and a loan production office in Nashua.

Centrix was named to US Banker magazine’s “2010 Top 200 Community Banks,” New Hampshire Business Review’s “2011 Best of Business” for Local Best Bank for Small Business, and Business NH Magazine’s 2010 “100 Top Public Companies” and “2006 Business of the Year.”
