Lindt factory outlet in Amherst marked

AMHERST – A sweet new addition to the Route 101A retail corridor has just made its debut.

Lindt, the Swiss chocolatier known worldwide for its premium chocolates, last week celebrated the opening of its newest factory outlet store at 124 Route 101A, the Meadow Brook Crossing plaza.

Company officials, including store manager Maryellen Manatrey and assistant Cindy Markwith, joined representatives of the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce and other guests for the grand opening. As a factory outlet, the new store will offer discounts over its retail prices, as well as free samples to visitors.

Founded in 1845, Lindt and its parent company, Lindt & Sprungli, employ roughly 7,400 people at eight major production facilities in the U.S. and Europe, including one in Stratham, according to the Chamber of Commerce. Lindt currently has 40 retail stores in the United States, including at Nashua’s Pheasant Lane Mall and in Stratham. The new Amherst store is one of eight Lindt plans to open this spring.
