Hazmat drill Tuesday at Daniel Webster College in Nashua

NASHUA – Daniel Webster College students majoring in Homeland Security will get hands-on experience Tuesday when the National Guard Civil Support Team and city emergency officials stage a hazmat exercise at the college.

Nashua Emergency Management director Justin Kates said response experts will shadow students while they practice coordinating an incident response at a command post. The session also will include a mock press conference, which Kates said will include a few staged questions designed to give students experience dealing with the press.

The press event will start at 1:30 p.m. at the nearby Aviation Center.

Homeland Security is a bachelor’s degree program that builds on DWC’s courses in aviation, computer science and social sciences and explores the dynamics of complex threats and how to best manage them by understanding the motives and ambitions of terrorists.
