Police charge Hollis man, 18, with facilitating underage drinking party

Police broke up an underage drinking party in Hollis earlier this month and arrested an 18-year-old man Tuesday after an investigation.

Matthew Murphy, of 25 Arbor Lane, Hollis, was charged with facilitating an underage drinking party, a Class B misdemeanor.

Hollis police received a complaint about the party around 11 p.m. April 6. Patrol officers responded and talked with the female homeowner, but she was uncooperative.

While she was talking to officers, several juveniles tried to leave the basement through a rear door, police said.

Police obtained a search warrant and returned at 3:40 a.m. Officers recovered alcohol and identified eight underage subjects.

Police said additional arrests are expected.

Murphy was released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail and scheduled for arraignment at 8:15 a.m. May 16 at Nashua district court.
