NASHUA – A suspect in a shooting incident was arrested Tuesday night in Massachusetts, police said.

Luis Capo-Nieves, 28, of Nashua, was arrested in Massachusetts on a warrant charging him with attempted first-degree assault related to a shooting incident Monday in Nashua, police said.

Capo-Nieves is being held as a fugitive until he can be extradited to New Hampshire, police said.

Massachusetts state police arrested Capo-Nieves, and he was taken to the state police barracks in Holden, Mass., police said.

He also faces charges in Massachusetts, including disobeying a police officer, police said.

On Monday, police were called to Ledge Street near Willow Street shortly after 5:30 p.m., when the altercation was reported. Later, they responded in force to Gusabel Avenue near the Nashua Mall.

Witnesses on Ledge Street reported hearing at least two gunshots, police said.
