Nashua: Three cyclists hurt in DW Highway collision

NASHUA – Three motorcyclists suffered multiple injuries in a Sunday afternoon crash that involved two motorcycles and possibly a car.

Police and rescue personnel who were called to the Daniel Webster Highway at the entrance to Pike Street around 5 p.m. found the three injured people on the side of the road, witnesses said. It’s believed two are male and one female.

Few details were immediately available, including the identities of the injured, which hospitals they were taken to, their conditions or what caused the crash. A trauma team was activated for one of the victims.

Police were interviewing the victims at the hospital.

Three ambulances took the injured to local hospitals.

One of the victims was being treated next to a red “trike,” a three-wheeled motorcycle, that was parked on the side of the road. It’s unknown if it was involved in the crash.

The accident occurred at the Daniel Webster Highway “turnaround,” a circular access road where drivers can reverse direction. The entrance to Pike Street, which runs parallel to the highway, is opposite the turnaround.

Groups of onlookers, many on motorcycles, formed across Pike Street and the highway. Police remained on the scene taking photographs and documenting evidence.
