Police: Merrimack man charged twice with DWI in one afternoon
MERRIMACK – In one day last week, a man racked up two drunken driving charges and two charges of conduct after an accident.
Police were called to Dolly Road around 6:40 p.m. Friday for a report of a hit-and-run accident between a car and a mailbox.
Police weren’t able to find the vehicle initially, but witnesses said it had hit the mailbox and a fence before fleeing. The vehicle was spotted in the area again driving southbound on Front Street toward the London Court condo complex, police said.
Police stopped the car and questioned Jeffrey Graham, 36, of 90 London Court, and noticed signs of impairment, police said.
Graham was eventually arrested and charged with DWI and conduct after an accident, the same offenses Merrimack police had charged him with after a separate incident earlier that day, police said.
The second arrest included a breach of bail conditions charge, police said.
Graham, who had been released on personal recognizance bail Friday afternoon, was held at Valley Street jail in Manchester on $5,000 cash bail and ordered to appear in court April 9, police said.
