Merrimack police charge Nashua man with Commons robbery

MERRIMACK – Police have charged a Nashua man with throwing a woman to the ground and stealing her money at an apartment complex Wednesday.

Emmanuel Lopez-Ortiz, 23, of 20 Linden St., Apt. 2 in Nashua, turned himself in to police Thursday after they issued a warrant for his arrest on robbery and simple-assault charges, police said.

Police were called to the Commons apartment and condominium complex April 4 when a woman reported Lopez-Ortiz had thrown her to the ground and stolen money from her, police said.

Detectives investigated and later charged Lopez-Ortiz.

He was held at Valley Street jail in Manchester on $5,000 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned at Merrimack district court Friday, police said.
