Porch fire causes minor damage at Nashua home
NASHUA – Firefighters contained a fire on the porch of a West Hollis Street home Tuesday afternoon before it could spread to the house itself, Deputy Chief Kevin Kerrigan said.
Crews were called to 163 W. Hollis St. around 5 p.m., after receiving calls for a fire in the home. Kerrigan said firefighters were able to stop the flames before they got far up the side of the house. The call required no additional crews and was under control in about 10 minutes.
Investigators continue to look into the cause, Kerrigan said, but it’s not believed to be suspicious.
The porch and a part of the exterior of the home sustained minor damage, he said. Occupants were allowed to return within an hour.
