Registered sex offender accused of failing to report to Nashua police
NASHUA – A registered sex offender has been charged with failing to notify police that he moved to the city.
Trevis Jones, 44, of 11 Amory St., Apt. 2, was arrested Monday and charged with duty to report, a Class B felony.
According to police, Jones is a Tier III sex offender and is required to report quarterly to the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction over his place of residence. Jones failed to report as required to Nashua police, police said.
It was learned through the investigation that Jones had moved to Nashua in January, but failed to notify authorities of his change of address.
Jones was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Nashua district court. A Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison, exclusive of fines.
This isn’t Jones’ first time being arrested for failure to report.
In October, Jones was one of five suspected gang members arrested by city police and FBI agents. At the time of his arrest in October, Jones was charged with possession of cocaine, parole violation and failure to register as a sexual offender.
