Primary isn’t just for GOP: Democrats will rally tonight for President Obama

For Democrats feeling left out of the primary fun, there are a number of parties going on across the Granite State tonight intended to drum up support for President Obama looking ahead to the November presidential election.

In Nashua, Obama for America is hosting a Primary Night party at Thousand Crane Restaurant at 116 W. Pearl Street.

The event will run from 7 to 10 p.m. and will feature a video teleconference from Vice President Joe Biden, who will urge supporters of President Obama to help support him in his bid for reelection. Biden is expected to call into the event around 8 p.m.

Obama is running in New Hampshire’s primary today, but is not expected to face any serious challengers.

The Nashua event will be open to the public, said Holly Shulman, with the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

There are also a number of house parties going on at private residences tonight, including ones in Hollis and Milford. Shulman said Obama supporters looking for a place to gather should visit www.barackobama.com for details about house parties in their area. There are more than 20 across the state tonight.
