Nashua schedules brush collection for storm debris
NASHUA – Starting Monday, the city will haul away brush, including limbs and debris from the Halloween weekend storm.
Brush should be at the curbside by 6:45 a.m. Monday, according to the city’s Division of Public Works.
Multiple DPW crews will pick up the brush, but it may take several weeks to complete the pickup because of the volume of material, according to the DPW.
However, crews won’t make return trips to neighborhoods, so all brush should be placed at curbside Monday.
Brush should be no larger than 8 inches in diameter and no longer than 6 to 8 feet.
Only brush will be collected. Residents should put out trash, recycling and soft yard waste on the regular pickup days.
Soft yard waste collection was canceled this week because of the storm. That collection will resume Nov. 7 and continue through Nov. 26.
Residents are encouraged to bring brush and soft yard waste to the landfill. The landfill will have extended hours through November as follows: through Nov. 5, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday; Nov. 7-30, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
The landfill will be closed Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Day (attention all would-be Arlo Guthries!)
The extended hours are for residents only. No commercial waste will be accepted during the extended hours.
If you have questions, call the DPW at 589-3456.
The DPW thanks residents for their patience as crews work to clean up after the challenging autumn snowstorm.
