Amherst Country Club to host one last tournament – as long as the snow clears

Amherst CC hosts benefit tourney

AMHERST – Snow might be headed this way, but as long as it’s gone from the ground by Thursday, Amherst Country Club has one more golf tournament in store.

The second annual “4DA2KDZ” Charity Tournament will tee off at 10 a.m. Thursday, as long as the course is playable.

Team slots are still available for anyone who has yet to register. The cost is $50 per player, and includes 18 holes, a cart, range balls, food and a chance for prizes afterward.

The inaugural tournament had 140 golfers.

The tournament is in honor of Trina Marie Leonard, formerly of Amherst, who died in March 2010. She was a single mother with two children, Owen, 9, and Nadiah, 7. The Trina Marie Leonard Memorial Trust Fund will benefit her children.

For more information or ways to get involved, call Chad Zingales at 673-9908 or Maureen Carter at 203-0230.
