No charges in Milford fatal

MILFORD – Police have wrapped a seven-month investigation of the January crash that killed a young Milford woman.

No charges will be filed against the driver of a Shaw’s Supermarket tractor-trailer that collided with a 2002 Saturn sedan on Jan. 20 at the intersection of Route 101 and Wilton Road in Milford.

The Saturn’s driver, Alisha Zibolis, 20, of Milford, was pronounced dead at the scene and her passenger Derek Mossey, 21, of Milford, was transported by med-flight to a Massachusetts hospital with serious injuries.

The Milford Police Department’s Technical Accident Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene, and on Sept. 7, Police Chief Fred Douglas said the unit had completed its work.

“It has been determined that no criminal charges are being brought forward,” he said in a press release.

The accident occurred about 2:25 p.m. in front of the Circle K Irving station, and firefighters, medical personnel and ambulances from Milford and Wilton responded.

The truck driver, Kevin Ruehrwein, 52, of Sanford, Maine, was not injured.
