No tritium found in Connecticut River near Vermont Yankee nuclear plant
The New Hampshire Division of Public Health Services says water samples found no tritium in the Connecticut River near the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant.
The state has sampled nine sites since a tritium leak was first found at Vermont Yankee last year. Vermont also sampled from “the point where the groundwater flows from the shoreline into the Connecticut River,” said the department.
New Hampshire has long tested for radiation in the air, water and plants and crustaceans throughout the southern part of the state to make sure nothing is oozing out of Vermont Yankee or Seabrook Station.
