Scattered power outages reported across region
Scattered power outages have been reported in areas of southern New Hampshire on Thursday, especially in Windham, where 79 percent of the town’s homes and businesses were without electricity, as of 4:30 p.m.
Outages were also reported in a total of eight towns, including Lyndeborough, Wilton and Brookline, where power seems to be back up.
Public Service of New Hampshire spokesman Martin Murray said outages are possibly linked to falling tree branches that had been loosened by the October snowstorm.
Crews are aware of all the outages, he said, and they are not expected to last long.
Lyndeborough customers lost power for less than an hour.
“Given what we just went through,” he said, loose branches are the likely cause. “Not all damaged vegetation came down” in the storm, he said, and with windy conditions expected over the next few days, people need to be careful when they’re outside.
