Former Hudson chief testifies at Breault trial

NASHUA – The theft trial of a former Hudson police captain has moved into a second week at Hillsborough County Superior Court.

Donald Breault is charged with falsifying work hours in the Police Department’s computer system to gain $1,000 in pay. He was suspended in 2009, after being approached by prosecutors, and was fired last year.

His defense attorney last week said Breault changed his hours to reflect actual time off and didn’t do so illicitly.

On Monday, former Hudson Police Chief Richard Gendron testified for the prosecution, one of more than 20 witnesses who could be called to the stand by the attorney general’s office. The defense expects to call Breault to the stand later this week.
