‘Blood markings’ were all over the Cates home
NASHUA – There was blood everywhere inside the Cates home when police took dozens of pictures inside and outside the day Kimberly Cates was brutally hacked to death.
New Hampshire State Police Trooper Jeff Ladieu has explained many of the photos taken inside the house and pointed out on diagrams he made of the area where the photos were taken from.
Many of the photos showed “blood markings,” as Ladieu calls them on the carpet in the master bedroom, in the hallway leading to the bedroom, on the wall near some light switches, on the kitchen counter and floor and phone left on that floor. It was left on the carpet in Jaimie Cates’ room and on a pillow by her bed, according to the photos.
Assistant attorney general Lucy Carrillo questioned Ladieu for almost 90 minutes, including a 10-minute break, and defense attorney Jonathan Cohen just began his cross examination.
