Counselor gave kids marijuana, police charge

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire authorities say a former youth counselor is charged with providing marijuana and cigarettes to children on field trips. Thirty-seven-year-old Jeffrey Reno is accused of two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child when he worked for the John H. Sununu Youth Services Center. In court documents filed Thursday, Reno was accused of giving cigarettes to about six children and letting them smoke in the center's vehicle. Twice, he allegedly provided marijuana they smoked.

He is free on $1,000 bail. The New Hampshire Union Leader reports that his trial is set for Jan. 11.
