Waypoint SleepOut: Ways to help homeless

By Staff | Feb 21, 2019

MANCHESTER – Waypoint, formerly Child and Family Services, invites individuals from throughout New Hampshire to join in The Waypoint SleepOut 2019, a night spent out in the cold to raise awareness and funds to aid New Hampshire’s homeless youth.

This event is set for 9 p.m. March 22 to shortly after sunrise March 23 at Stanton Plaza in downtown Manchester.

This year, one can participate by: Being a sleeper on site, for which there are age and fund-raising minimums; being a non-sleeper fundraiser, for which people can stay home but still raise money; and as a “rogue sleeper.”

The rogue sleeper option is new this year, enabling those of all ages who wish to participate, but can’t be at the SleepOut headquarters. Instead, they can sleep out on the same night in their own backyards, college campuses, or company parking lots, and still raise funds. Rogue sleepers will get a “virtual” experience of the event through a live stream of the presentations from the SleepOut headquarters.
