Merrimack accident snarls Tuesday’s turnpike commute
MERRIMACK – An as-yet unidentified driver sustained injuries that are not believed to be serious in a Tuesday morning rollover crash on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack.
But the vehicle, which came to rest on its roof in the center median, took out a fairly lengthy section of the center guardrail, resulting in a repair and rebuild project for state DOT crews, according to an unofficial report from the scene.
A witness also reported that traffic backed up for a considerable distance in both the northbound and southbound lanes of the turnpike. Residual delays continued for some time, it was reported.
According to reports, the driver was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua by Merrimack ambulance.
