NASHUA – A construction worker is dead after being electrocuted while operating a hydraulic lift in an accident that took place Thursday on Cannongate Road.

The man’s identity has not yet been released. First responders were called to the condominium complex shortly after noon on Thursday.

According to Nashua Fire and Rescue, the worker was inside the hydraulic lift when it came into contact with electrical

lines.

Nashua Fire officials say the worker suffered fatal injuries when the lift touched the lines. The accident is being investigated by the Nashua Fire Marshal, the State Fire Marshal, Nashua Police and OSHA.

Martin Murray, a spokesman with Eversource, said the construction project was unrelated to the electric line restoration efforts going on in the wake of this week’s storm.

Eversource did shut down power to the area to allow first responders to get to the scene.
