89th annual Gala and Citizen of the Year award’s venue changed

NASHUA – The location for the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce’s 89th annual Gala and Citizen of the Year Award has been changed to the Courtyard Marriott Event Center, 2200 Southwood Drive, Nashua.

The Nov. 8 event was previously going to take place at the site of the former Alec’s Shoes, as part of the theme of “supporting the arts” in Nashua.

However, according to Patrick O’Mara, director of programs and events for the chamber, they ran into “unforeseen issues converting a mercantile building into a place of assembly.”

City officials and building owner John Koutsos had worked with the chamber to revamp the space, but due to “time and budget restrictions,” were not able to make it work.

The chamber is “very grateful to the event center” for fitting them in last minute, O’Mara said.
