Man hit by garbage truck dies

Adam Urquhart A heavy police presence was seen at 30 Allds St. in Nashua Wednesday morning after a report of a fatal motor vehicle collision.

NASHUA – A man died Wednesday morning after he was reportedly hit by a garbage truck on Allds Street.

On Wednesday, Oct. 11 officers responded to the parking lot of 30 Allds St. at 7:55 am for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian that was struck by the truck.

The pedestrian was an adult male.

A neighbor who lives across the street from the scene, Jamie Sullivan, said she heard a car beeping around 7:30 a.m.

“Another car was beeping their horn, probably trying to warn him,” Sullivan said.

She didn’t witness the incident and only heard the commotion from a car’s horn.

“On behalf of all of us at Harbor Homes and the agencies of the Partnership for Successful Living, we are deeply saddened by this tragic accident. Paul McLaughlin’s passing will be profoundly felt by the countless many whose lives he has touched and have had the privilege of knowing and working with him for over 28 years,” Mary Tamposi, Spokesperson for the Partnership for Successful Living said.

The collision is being investigated by members of the Nashua Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team with the assistance of New Hampshire State Police (Troop G), Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.

Since the investigation is ongoing anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to call NPD at 594-3500.
