HUDSON – Police said River Road, between Pine Road and Philbrick Street, in the south end of town will be closed through Thursday afternoon as crews replace a utility pole taken down in an early-morning crash.

Police, who identified the driver only as an adult male, said his 2012 Jeep Wrangler left River Road around 1:30 a.m. and crashed into a pole near 62 River Road.

The driver escaped injury, and police said it doesn’t appear that drugs, alcohol or excessive speed were factors in the crash.
