Strong wind gusts have led to downed trees and wires in the region.

As of midday Thursday, Eversource, the state’s largest electricity provider, was showing about 3,700 outages in the state. That number was down from about 11,000 earlier in the day.

Most of the outages appeared to be occurring in the southern and western portions of New Hampshire, including Merrimack, Hudson, Amherst and Hollis.

The National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, issued a wind advisory for much of the state as well as a portion of western Massachusetts, southern Vermont and portions of Maine surrounding the city of Portland.

A large tree fell onto a home in New Boston. A tree fell onto I-93 in Salem which temporarily blocked a portion of the highway.
