Gearing up to Tuesday’s primary, a virtual parade of top Republicans will be appearing in Nashua in the next few days.

On Friday, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will be at the Greater Nashua Republican Field Office at 491 Amherst St. for a political pep rally starting at 10 a.m.

On Saturday, three Republican heavy hitters and possible presidential candidates will be at the Hillsborough County Republican Committee “Primary Gala,” at the Crowne Plaza. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will be the keynote speaker at the event, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz also will address the crowd. The evening’s “special guest” will be Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore.

And on Sunday, Cruz will be back in Nashua, this time at City Hall at a campaign event with state Rep. Marilinda Garcia, a Republican candidate for Congress.

Coincidently – or not – Garica’s top primary opponent, Gary Lambert, lives in Nashua.

On social media, the question was raised whether the third floor of City Hall could accommodate the crowd that Cruz may attract.

“It fits 200, but if we go over, maybe @GaryLambertNH will lend us his backyard,” Tom Szold, Garcia’s campaign manager, tweeted in response.

Officially, Garcia’s campaign officials said she chose to visit Nashua since the city has been a big source of support.

“The purpose of this rally is to ‘Get Out The Vote’ for Marilinda Garcia, and Senator Cruz will discuss with voters that Marilinda Garcia is a trustworthy, proven conservative who has worked hard to promote conservative principles in the state of New Hampshire,” said communications director Kenny Cunningham. “She has received overwhelming support in Nashua which is one of her biggest volunteer bases.”

However, on primary night, Lambert has chosen the Nashua Country Club as his election headquarters. Garcia, on the other hand, will be at the Draft Sports Bar and Grill in Concord.

Garcia’s Sunday rally in Nashua is at 1:30 p.m. on the third floor of Nashua City Hall. Those planning to attend can respond at RSVP@marilindagarcia.com.
