Brookline artist holding yard sale to benefit Ukraine

Local sculptor John Weidman, who cofounded the Andres Institute of Art in Brookline and the annual Nashua International Sculpture Symposium, is hosting a Labor Day weekend yard sale with his wife, Nadiya, to raise funds to help the people of war-torn Ukraine.

The sale, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, is being held at Weidman’s studios at 35 Old Milford Road, Brookline.

Weidman said all proceeds will be destined for the Ukraine and pledged “to whatever purpose that will be best” as determined by family members and friends living in the nation’s Chernihiv region.

The sale will take place rain or shine.
