Merrimack and Litchfield police said they used GPS coordinates to track down a stolen car earlier this month.

Police in Litchfield contacted Merrimack officers on Aug. 16 after a car was reported stolen that morning. Litchfield had traced the truck using the vehicle’s GPS to the area of 7 Meetinghouse Road in Merrimack, police said.

Merrimack officers went to the home and found Benjamin Sherman, 23, of no fixed address, standing near the vehicle. Sherman was arrested and charged with felony receiving stolen property, police said.

Merrimack police are still investigating the incident due to a number of thefts in the area, especially from motor vehicles. More charges may be filed, police said.
