MERRIMACK – The investigation into last week’s rash of thefts from vehicles in town has yielded one arrest with more possibly forthcoming, police said Thursday.

The arrest on Aug. 17 of Kristen Beebe, 25, of 25 Fox Meadow Lane led to the discovery of “several items related to the motor vehicle thefts,” according to police, who added that Beebe was also found to be in possession of “a large amount” of heroin when police executed a warrant for her arrest shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

Beebe was arraigned earlier this week on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, Two counts of resisting arrest were added, police said, after Beebe “physically resisted … and had to be restrained” during her arrest.

She was held on $25,000 cash bail pending a probable cause hearing set for Aug. 28 in Merrimack District Court.

Detectives had been investigating the rash of thefts from vehicles that were reported between Aug. 13-16 when they developed leads that led them to Beebe, police said.

They said detectives learned that Beebe had allegedly pawned a number of the items that had been stolen from the vehicles targeted in the thefts.

Based on the information and a follow-up investigation, police said they requested, and were granted, a search warrant for Beebe’s arrest.

Police issued an alert on Aug. 13 through the town’s Nixle notification system urging residents to remove valuables and lock their vehicles because of the wave of thefts.

Police added that due to the number of thefts, specifically from motor vehicles, the case remains under investigation, and officers may end up filing additional charges. They didn’t specify whether Beebe may face more charges or if additional individuals may be arrested.

According to Telegraph archives, a Kristen Beebe of the same address, 25 Fox Meadow Drive, was arrested multiple times between 2006-08.

Records show that Beebe was 18 when she was arrested for driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and conspiracy to sell narcotics on two separate occasions in November 2006.

She was found guilty on the DWI and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle charges and paid fines; the possession of drugs and conspiracy to sell drugs charges were dropped.

A month later, she was charged with possession of a tobacco product by a minor, possession of a controlled drug and resisting arrest, all of which were dropped, according to the records.
