Nashua police arrested a Merrimack man Monday and charged him with breaking into a city home earlier this summer.

Police were called to a home on Ash Street around 5 p.m. on July 22 after the residents said they returned home to find that someone had broken in and taken some of their property, police said.

Detectives investigated and later charged Abimael Castillo Castro, 41, of 53 Fairway Drive, Merrimack, with burglary. Castillo Castro refused bail and was arraigned Tuesday at Nashua district court, police said.

The Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison plus fines, police said.
