NASHUA – Nashua police arrested a Dexter Street woman Monday and charged her with helping her daughter engage in prostitution with a Massachusetts man.

The relationship was uncovered by members of the Nashua Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit after they began investigating complaints about suspicious activity at 33 Dexter St.

During the investigation, officers made contact with the daughter, Arieana Manzi, and learned that she was “engaging in prostitution” with Christopher Baldwin, of Tyngsboro, Mass., according to an announcement released Tuesday evening by the police department.

Officers “furthered their investigation” with Manzi’s mother, Amy Manzi, and learned that Amy Manzi had full knowledge of her daughter’s activities, police said. Amy Manzi, who resides at 33 Dexter St., is accused of helping to facilitate the sex-for-money relationship between Baldwin and her daughter by providing her address and cell phone.

Officers arrested all three parties on Monday at 3:43 p.m. Police said Arieana Manzi, who resides at 34 9th St., Norwich, Conn., was in possession of heroin when she was taken into custody. She was charged with prostitution and drug possession. She was being held Tuesday at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections on $1,000 cash or surety bail pending an arraignment in Nashua district court.

Amy Manzi faces a misdemeanor charge of criminal liability for the conduct of another to prostitution. Police said she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest on a theft charge, as well as two electronic bench warrants for failing to appear in court. She also was being held at the county House of Corrections on $5,000 cash or surety bail.

Baldwin faces a single misdemeanor prostitution charge. He was released on bail pending a Sept. 18 arraignment.
