Car strikes utility pole, causes power outage in Merrimack Tuesday afternoon

MERRIMACK – One person was taken to a Manchester hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries after the vehicle he was driving struck a utility pole on Daniel Webster Highway near the Bedford town line Tuesday afternoon.

The crash damaged the pole and disrupted attached wires, causing a power outage in the area, police reported. Officers closed a section of Daniel Webster Highway for about an hour and a half following the 2:30 p.m. crash to allow PSNH crews to make the area safe, then repair the wires and pole. ...
